Performing in tournaments

Costa Rica has taken part in all four of the CONCACAF championship so far. In 2000 they won the tournament as the host, they were host again for four years and finished in third place, which was not enough to qualify for the World Cup.

In 1992, Costa Rica took part in the Futsal World Cup for the first time at the invitation of FIFA , but was eliminated from the preliminary round without winning a point. Eight years later they qualified as CONCACAF champions for the 2000 World Cup in Guatemala, behind Russia and Croatia they were eliminated in the preliminary round, but with a 6-2 win over Australia they won at least their first World Cup victory.
