Cotnari ( German Kottnersberg ) is a community consisting of eleven villages in the Romanian region of Moldova in the Iași district .
The village is located northwest of the district capital Iași and south of the city of Hârlău . Cotnari was first mentioned in documents in 1448. The village became famous for the wineries built here by Stefan the Great .
