Probota is a municipality in Iasi County in northeast Romania . In 2007 it had about 3700 inhabitants.

Location of Probota in Iași County

The place is on the DN 24C road, which leads south after 25 kilometers to Iași . The village of Sculeni is 10 km to the southeast and the Lacul Hälceni and Lacul Bulbucani lakes are about 10 km to the west. It is 5 km to the east to the border of the Republic of Moldova and thus also to the Prut River .
