Dagâța ([ daˈgɨtsa ] obsolete Dagîța ) is a municipality in Iași County , in the Moldova Region in Romania .
Geographical location
In northeast Romania is the municipality of Dagâța, with nine villages, in the Moldau plateau ( Podișul Moldovei ) in the southwest of the Iași district. The place Dagâța is on the creek of the same name on the railway line Roman-Buhăieşti and the county road ( drum județean ) DJ 246 about 30 kilometers east of the city of Roman in Neamț district ; the district capital of Iași is located approx. 85 kilometers northeast of Dagâța. Around twelve regional trains stop at Dagâțas station every day.

history
A verifiable first documentary mention of the place is not known. In the area of the place Dagâța about 300 meters southeast of the village at La Saivane - so called by the locals - finds of a settlement from the La Tène period , at Dealul Țintirim II finds of settlements that point to the Middle Ages were made.
Demographics
At the 2002 census, the Dagâța parish had 4,809 inhabitants. 4,317 true Romanians and 492 were Roma . 98.9% of the population were Romanian Orthodox . In the 2011 survey, 4599 people were registered in 1670 households.
The main occupations of the population are agriculture and livestock.

- The Pogorârea Sfântului Duh Monastery , rebuilt in 1993
- V. Tăutu's country house , built in the early 19th century, is a listed building.
