Rǎducǎneni [ ˈrədukənenʲ ] ( Hungarian Radukanén ) is a municipality in the Iași district in the Moldova region in Romania .
Geographical location
The municipality Rǎducǎneni is located in the Moldau Basin (Podișul Moldovei) in the southeast of the Iași district. On the Bohotin , a right tributary of the Prut , and on the national road DN28, Rǎduc DNneni is located about 45 kilometers southeast of the district capital of Iași (Jassy) .
The Bohotin - Pietrosu nature reserve is located within the municipality .
history
Archaeological finds on the area of the community center, called La Cireada by the locals, point to a settlement in the area as far back as the Late Bronze Age and at Hǎmeiosul as far as the Latène Age .
population
In the 2002 census, 7,678 inhabitants were registered in the territory of the municipality of Rǎducǎneni. 7422 of them were Romanians , 248 Roma and one German , one Hungarian , one Italian and one Pole . In 2011, 7200 people were counted in the municipality, 6499 of whom were Romanians, 331 Roma, two Hungarians and the rest did not provide any information about their ethnic group.
Attractions
- In Rǎducǎneni, the wooden church of Sfântul Dumitru was built in 1905 and the Roman Catholic church of Sfinții Apostoli Petru și Paul was built in 1929. The latter is 32 meters long, 17 wide, 24 meters high and has a 49 meter high bell tower. The 1350, 620 and 350 kilogram church bells were brought from Bavaria in 1929 .
- In Rǎducǎneni the house Roset - Cataragiu (Casa Roset - Cataragiu) , built in the 19th century, is a listed building.
- In the incorporated village of Bohotin the Sf. Nicolae Church, built between 1842 and 1845, is a listed building.
