The Countess Peninsula is a rocky, 2.5 km long and 800 wide peninsula on the Knox coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It extends westward between the Booth Peninsula and the base of the Bunger Hills .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map them. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1961 after Julian Countess (* 1926), crew member of the flights carried out by Lieutenant Commander David Eli Bunger (1909-1971) during Operation Highjump.
