Craigery Michael Owens , Craig Owens for short (born August 26, 1984 in Davidson , Michigan ) is an American rock musician.

He is a singer with Chiodos and is the founder of the now closed projects Cinematic Sunrise and DRUGS . He was also involved in the short-lived post-hardcore supergroup Isles & Glaciers .

Owens also had an appearance in the drama K-11 , which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012 and was shown in theaters in the United States in September 2013 .

Career

In 2001 Owens founded the band Chiodos with five other musicians , which is now under contract with Equal Vision Records . While still active at Chiodos, he founded a musical side project with Cinematic Sunrise . With this, however, he only released an EP before the band split up.

In July 2008, he announced that he had been suffering from bipolar disorder and anxiety attacks for a number of years , which culminated when he admitted to overdosing on Xanax just before the statement .

Even when he was no longer actively involved with Chiodos, he was interested in continuing to work with the musicians. After leaving Chiodos for a while, he founded the DRUGS project with which he brought a studio album onto the market. When he returned to Chiodos, the remaining musicians from DRUGS decided to break up the band.

He was also in the supergroup Isles & Glaciers as one of three singers - alongside Jonny Craig and Vic Fuentes . This existed for a total of two years, brought out an EP and, owing to the various tour plans of the musicians, only played one concert. When asked whether there could be another collaboration with the musicians in the future, he said that no plans had been made in this regard in the near future.

In 2011, Owens was reported to have accepted a role in the drama K-11 , which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival . Originally, Kristen Stewart was supposed to star in the film, but the filmmakers canceled her because the filming took place almost simultaneously with the shooting of Twilight .
