Isles & Glaciers was a short-lived American post-hardcore - Super Group , which consisted of 2008 by 2010. The group consisted of the brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes (both Pierce the Veil ), Jonny Craig (formerly with Dance Gavin Dance and Emarosa ), Craig Owens ( DRUGS and Chiodos ), Nick Martin (also DRUGS and Underminded ), Brian Southall ( a.o. Motion City Soundtrack ) and Matt Goddard.
history
The group played their first and only band show on March 21, 2009 in Austin , Texas as part of SXSW . Their only release, the EP The Hearts of Lonely People , was released on March 9, 2010 via Equal Vision Records and was able to position itself at number 104 in the official US charts (determined by the music magazine Billboard ). The development of the pieces took almost ten days, but musicians worked on the EP for over a year, which was not least due to the fact that all musicians are active in other bands. Casey Bates worked on the productions as a producer . Bates also worked with Chiodos and The Fall of Troy .
While Jonny Craig announced that Isles & Glaciers was "a one-off" and would not develop any new material, Vic Fuentes stated that he would like to produce a new album with the musicians. Even Craig Owens of Chiodos explained in a 2012 interview, again prepared to work with the other musicians on a new work of supergroup wanting. On September 5, 2014, Equal Vision Records announced that the EP The Hearts of Lonely People would be re-recorded and remixed. The remix version of the EP is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2014.
Music genre
Isles & Glaciers, which consisted of musicians from Emarosa , Dance Gavin Dance , Chiodos , DRUGS and Pierce the Veil , played a mixture of post-hardcore and progressive rock music . What was remarkable about the sound of the supergroup was the change in vocals between the three singers of the band. Each member contributed to the sound of the supergroup. Screaming was also used in addition to normal singing. Singers Jonny Craig and Craig Owens are described as important musicians of the post-hardcore genre, although the group's third singer, Vic Fuentes , was given an equally important role on the EP. Craig's singing has been described as soulful and a contrast from the voices of Owens and Fuentes.
