Crayfish was a rock band from Frankfurt am Main .
history
The band Crayfish was formed in 2001 as a school band in Langen near Frankfurt am Main . It had its first appearance on June 11, 2001. Crayfish initially consisted of Julian Emmerich (vocals), Moritz Maier (guitar & vocals), Patrik Westphal (guitar & vocals), Dominik Westphal (electric bass) and Marcel Schweer (drums) . In 2008 Julian Emmerich left the band and Fabian Fink joined as the new singer.
The band achieved national fame in February 2009 when they performed in front of 11,000 people at The Dome in the TUI Arena in Hanover. The first single "Watching Me" was presented live there. The song later made it onto The Dome Vol. 50 LE Sampler ( Universal Music ). Numerous other concerts followed in front of five-digit audience numbers. In April 2009 the debut album "Keep On Keepin 'On" was released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The band has a fan club in Japan and toured Germany. In 2013 the band broke up.

- Sonic boom
In the first three years of the band's history, the self-made CD Sonic Boom was created with a demo single ( All I Do & Pogo In The Sky ). From the beginning the band played performances in the Rhine-Main area and was able to increase the frequency of performances with these rehearsal room demos.
- 2005-2006
- Darts & Hearts
The band's studio debut was released in 2005 with the EP Darts & Hearts . With the EP, the band was able to establish itself regionally and received good reviews. The CD was produced by Christian Maier and Crayfish in the Phonobank Studios in Frankfurt. The edition of 500 was soon sold out, the copies are still rare today.

- Grand Escape
With Grand Escape the band added another EP in 2007, which was produced by Christian Moos together with Crayfish in Krefeld at Spacelab Studios. When the CD was released, the first tour of Germany started, which led through the whole of Germany. Due to the larger circulation, Grand Escape sold better than its predecessor Darts & Hearts .

- Believe In Us
The album Believe In Us , named after the title song of the same name, was produced by Corni Bartels (including Killerpilze , Joachim Germany , Hackneyed ) in the Munich space studios and was also promoted with a Germany tour. The planned official trade release failed because singer Julian Emmerich left, so that a large part of the edition did not come into circulation and the copies are still rare today.

- Keep on, keepin 'on
Keep On Keepin 'On is a reworked edition of the album Believe In Us, completely sung by singer Fabian Fink . The LP was then officially released via Cargo Records in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is therefore considered the group's debut album. The song Watching Me was chosen as the first release, followed by Believe In Us as the second single. As part of the release, Crayfish are playing the third major tour in Germany. With a new singer and the presentation of the first single at The Dome, this continued with nationwide concerts in front of large audiences at well-known festivals and well-known clubs.

- Sticky Sweet Sins
The studio album Sticky Sweet Sins , also produced by Corni Bartels in Munich, is the band's second official album. For the first time, Crayfish worked with songwriters, but this only affected three songs on the album. Among other things, the release Broken Bridge was composed and texted together with the Swedish top songwriters Anders Wiktrom and Lars Manson. The CD intro was created in collaboration with the artist Ged Hall, who also drew the lettering on the CD. For the first time, the album is a concept album, just like the CD title, all the song titles on the LP contain alliterations . The single Broken Bridge rose from zero to number ten in the single charts in the week of release. This success again generated a high level of media interest. Broken Bridge was also played on all major radio stations in Germany. Guitarist Moritz Maier has tattooed the album's lettering flat on his chest. A few months after the album was released, the band received the cultural sponsorship award in their hometown of Langen .

- Angelic Harmonies
In the tenth year of the band's history, Crayfish released an unplugged album for the first time. "Angelic Harmonies" is a continuation of the album "Sticky Sweet Sins" and contains largely identical song material, supplemented by the new songs "Setting Salis" and "Minus Myself". All songs were rearranged and played with acoustic instruments. The album is produced by the band themselves, Andreas Schlegel took care of the mix. A music video was released in 2012 for "Minus Myself". The "Angelic Harmonies" are limited to 1000 copies and individually numbered. The publication was celebrated with a pub crawl through Hessen.
