The Cronce is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises under the name Ruisseau de Méniol in the Margeride countryside , in the municipality of Védrines-Saint-Loup , drains generally in a north-easterly direction, changes its name again to Ruisseau de Védrinette in the upper reaches before it takes its final name at Chastel . It crosses a rather sparsely populated area and flows into the Allier as a left tributary after around 27 kilometers in the north-western municipality of Aubazat . On its way, the Cronce touches the Cantal and Haute-Loire departments .
