Culcha Candela is the third studio album by the German band Culcha Candela of the same name . It was published on August 31, 2007 by Universal Domestic / Urban.
history
On August 10, 2007, Hamma! the pre-single of the third album Culcha Candela released on August 31, 2007. With the direct entry at number 1 on August 24, 2007, the band surprisingly achieved the greatest success of their career to date. In the following six weeks they were able to successfully defend first place in the single charts . Hamma! later reached platinum. This was followed by a Hamma! Tour in German-speaking countries. The second release from the album was Ey DJ on November 23, 2007.
On February 14th, 2008 the band represented their hometown Berlin with the song Chica at the Bundesvision Song Contest in the TUI Arena , in which they took seventh place.
The last single was special day as Benztown remix released.
On July 25th, 2008 the DVD and CD were released for their final concert of the Hamma! -Tour in Berlin.

Critical reception
CDstarts.de praised the development, but not the complete separation, from reggae to hip-hop and awarded 
. Laut.de, on the other hand, criticizes precisely this point: “More than ever, you are venturing into the seasonless hip hop realms. The authenticity, the rousing instrumentation or at least one or the other more original hook is missing. ”The author Katja Scherle forgave it nonetheless
