Larsito
Larsito (* in Berlin as Lars Barragán De Luyz) is a German musician , songwriter and producer . He became known as a member of the band Culcha Candela . In 2014 he released his first solo album . He also appears together with DJ Fiks under the pseudonym Mata Mosca. He sings in German, Spanish and English.
Life
He was born in Berlin in the 1980s as the son of a Colombian musician and a German educator , and he grew up in Schöneberg . His father worked as a percussionist and introduced him to Latin American music . While in school he spent a year in the United States . There and in Germany he was a member of various Soul - and jazz - bands . He became known as a member of Culcha Candela , where he worked as a singer, percussionist, songwriter and co-producer. He was the only one of the members to sing and rap in all the languages of the band, German, English and Spanish. In total, the formation sold over two million records and has received multiple gold and platinum records .
In 2012 there was a creative break, later he separated from Culcha Candela. He produced a solo album for which he traveled to Colombia and Cuba , among others , where he recorded the piece Too large with Amadito Valdés of the Buena Vista Social Club . The singer Totó la Momposina , who had already accompanied his father on a tour, took part in Under these clouds . The album was released in May 2014 under the title Something stays at Jive Germany , critics described it as a “mixture of summer mood, melancholy and catchy melodies”. The mood is authentic and conveyed Caribbean flair , musically the album has a lot to offer. While the melody and singing in the chorus were judged positively, others criticized the "dull juxtaposition of catchphrases". Purely lyrically, the artist practices restraint. In May 2014 he released his first solo single Unter these Wolken , followed by Magnet in August 2014 with influences from electronica .
