Kraans de Lutin (* 1975 ) is a Berlin based music producer.

Life

He made his musical beginnings in a circle of friends in Menden in the Sauerland with the collective “Westkurve”, of which some members moved to Hamburg little by little in the early to mid-1990s and to which the hip-hop artists Dendemann ( Eins Zwo ), Dabrutack and Nico Suave belonged. From Bremen , where Kraans meanwhile worked in FlowinImmO's “Freakcave”, he supplied his friends with sound before moving to Berlin.

During his production of the EP Revolution (2002) by Mellow Mark for Warner Music , Kraans presented his typical mixture of hip-hop influences, organic band sounds and detailed arrangements to a larger audience for the first time.

Kraas de Lutin designs a tailor-made sound image for the respective artist or project, which on the one hand creates an individual aesthetic, but on the other hand leaves all the necessary space for the songwriting.

Together with Vicente "Don" Celi he runs the Phlexton Studios in Berlin / Kreuzberg. First he produced hip-hop beats, later reggae and soundtracks. Over time, however, he expanded his musical field of application and now also produces in other genres.

De Lutin worked with numerous musicians from the fields of pop, soul, hip-hop and reggae. He worked, wrote and produced a. a. for sizes like Shaggy , Tim Bendzko , Culcha Candela , Afrika Bambaata and Seeed . Since 2004, the albums and singles by Culcha Candela, Mellow Mark, Martin Jondo , the Berlin PR cantata and the complete score by de Lutin for the film “ Goldene Zeiten ” (2006) by Peter Thorwarth have gained prominence. A project that Kraans not only initiated and produced, but in which he was also a permanent member of the band, was called Tigerhifi, a live dub project in which de Lutin took on the role of dubbing. Current acts he writes and / or produces for may include a. Rotfront , Flo Mega , Jakub Ondra and MC Fitti .
