Cuno von Schulzen

Conrad Christian Cuno von Schulzen (born July 15, 1837 at Freudenberg House ; † November 12, 1923 in Hanover ) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator for the Syke district .

Life

Cuno von Schulzen was a son of the bailiff Johann Christian von Schulzen in Freudenberg and his second wife Anna Henriette Cäcilie Antoinette von Hammerstein-Loxten. After graduating from high school in Hanover , he studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and was appointed auditor in November 1860 and official assessor in February 1865. He received his first post in Verden . A little later he was appointed acting mayor of Bodenwerder . In 1868 he was appointed government assessor and in 1873 transferred to Syke , where he was entrusted with the business of a provisional governor . In 1876 he was promoted to government councilor. From May 7, 1879 he was governor. With the introduction of the district constitution on April 1, 1885, he became district administrator of the Syke district, most recently with the title of a secret councilor. He retired on July 1, 1906, which he spent in Hanover.

During his tenure, among other things, Schulzen made outstanding contributions to the expansion of the transport infrastructure. In addition to the expansion of the country roads, his focus was on promoting railway construction. Under his aegis, the Hoya-Syke Asendorf and Bassum-Bünde railway lines were reopened. As one of two representatives of the Syke district, Schulzen was also a member of the provincial parliament of the province of Hanover .

He died in Hanover in 1923 and was buried there in the Engesohde city cemetery .

family

Since 1865 Cuno von Schulzen was married to Emma von Göben († 1922), a daughter of General Quintus von Göben . Of his children, the eldest daughter Anna (* 1867) married the later Hildesheim District Administrator Eduard Heye , the daughter Friederike married Colonel Georg von Wick and the youngest daughter Else later married Major General Thilo von Linsingen .
