Snack stand Curry 36 in Berlin-Kreuzberg

Curry 36 is a snack from the Berlin district of Kreuzberg that is well-known beyond the borders of Berlin . The name is made up of the house number of the building at Mehringdamm  36, in which the company's first snack bar is located in a shop, and the main offer - the currywurst  .

Curry 36 is one of the most famous curry sausage stalls in Berlin.

history

The snack stand initially consisted of a wooden cart, from which boiler goods were sold, and was called "Wurstmaxe". It was in the entrance of the house at Mehringdamm 36. In 1980 the snack stand was taken over by the couple Vera and Lutz Stenschke; the latter is also the concession holder . The 200 m² snack bar now has numerous deep fryers , roasters and pans and is open 365 days a year. The sausages are obtained from a butcher in Lichtenrade . Since the food stalls are mentioned in several travel guides, numerous tourists can be found there.
