Curt Clausen
Curt Raymond Clausen (born October 9, 1967 in Trenton ) is an American walker .
He was particularly successful in the 50-kilometer distance . He achieved the outstanding result of his career by winning the bronze medal at the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville . Originally, he had only reached the goal as fourth behind German Skurygin , Ivano Brugnetti and Nikolai Matjuchin . Skurygin, however , was convicted of doping and subsequently disqualified, so that the other walkers moved up one rank in the ranking.
Two years later, Clausen finished seventh at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton . He also took part in three Olympic Games between 1996 and 2004 . His best result there he achieved at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney with 22nd place over 50 km.
Curt Clausen won a total of 18 US championship titles over various distances. He is 1.86 m tall and has a competition weight of 67 kg.
