Curt Gottlob von Seydewitz , since 1775 Count von Seydewitz , (born May 13, 1735 in Pülswerda ; † December 11, 1809 in Großenhain ) was a royal Saxon chamberlain , lieutenant colonel and commissioner of the Meißnischen Kreis as well as heir, feudal lord and court lord Pülswerda and Kreinitz .

Curt Gottlob Graf von Seydewitz came from the old Saxon noble family von Seydewitz and was the son of Curt Friedrich von Seydewitz and his wife Charlotte Juliane née von Bünau . 1,743 of 1,731 to Barons appointed was August Friedrich von Seydewitz in the imperial counts charged. Since he died unmarried, Emperor Joseph II transferred the status of imperial count to his nephew Curt Gottlob Graf von Seydewitz on July 10, 1775. Curt Gottlob married Dorothea Charlotte Henriette von Nischwitz (1744–1823) in 1765. They were the parents of Curt Friedrich August and Curt Heinrich Ludwig Alexander Graf von Seydewitz. The former (* 1769) became Bavarian Major General and Knight of the Military Max Joseph Order and the youngest son (* 1783) fell during the Russian campaign in 1812 as a royal Saxon cavalry master .

Career

Like many of his family members, he embarked on a military career in the service of the Albertines , which he ended as first lieutenant. At the court in Dresden he rose from ranks to (titular) chamberlain. In addition, he was district commissioner in the Meißnian district and was active on several commissions in the service of the elector Friedrich August von Sachsen, who was appointed king in 1806.
