Curt Mündel (born December 24, 1852 in Glogau , † June 29, 1906 in Strasbourg ) was a German bookseller and folklorist .

Curt Mündel was born in Glogau as the son of a judiciary and syndic of the Silesian knighthood. On July 1, 1872, he began his apprenticeship as a bookseller at Puttkamer and Mühlbrecht in Berlin and finished his apprenticeship from August 1, 1873 to June 1, 1875 at F. Schneider & Co. there . He then wanted to move to a London bookstore, but came to see Karl J. Trübner in Strasbourg towards the end of 1875 . On the recommendation of Julius Euting , Mündel was entrusted with the revision of the Vosges guide by August Schricker . He worked for the Schmidt bookstore for a short time and in 1885 became a partner in the Strasbourg bookstore and printing company JH Ed. Heitz. There he published The Legends of Alsace by August Stöber , which he supplemented with new material.

Mündel was a member of the Vosges Club and was appointed honorary president in November 1897 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Strasbourg branch of the club. In 1909 a lookout tower on the Heidenkopf in the Vosges was named after him.
