Curtis Lundy (* 1. October 1956 in Miami , Florida ) is an American jazz - bassist , composer , producer and arranger of post-bop .

Live and act

Lundy became known for his work for the jazz singer Betty Carter , in whose band he played with musicians such as Jack DeJohnette , Dave Holland and Don Braden . Lundy also worked with John Hicks , Bobby Watson , the Steve Nelson Quintet, and with Johnny Griffin .

In 1988 Lundy released his first album, Just Be Yourself . In 1991 he was a guest musician on the album Underground of the wind ensemble Twenty-Ninth Street Saxophone Quartet . He later recorded the albums Against All Odds (1999) and Purpose (2002) as a leader on the jazz label Justin Time Records , accompanied by John Hicks and Anthony Wonsey .

Lundy's sister is the jazz singer Carmen Lundy .
