Cynthia Rhodes

Cynthia Rhodes (born November 21, 1956 in Nashville , Tennessee ) is an American dancer , singer and actress .

life and career

Her dance training began at the age of three, finished at the age of 17 and made her debut in her hometown at the amusement park Opryland USA . As an actress, singer and dancer she was first seen in the cinema in the films Flashdance and Staying Alive (both 1983). Her song I'm Never gonna give you up in a duet with Frank Stallone even made it into the top 20. With Dirty Dancing she successfully followed up on her dance career in musicals in 1987 . From 1989 to 1990 she also appeared as a singer in the US new wave band Animotion .

Rhodes was married to the singer and songwriter Richard Marx from 1989 to 2014 and has three sons with him (* 1990, * 1992 and * 1994).
