Ramsay finds an integrated circuit in a household robot that had killed an entire family that not only bypasses the safety functions, but also contains a direct command to kill. Upon examination, he discovers that it is a mass-produced part.

Investigations lead to the military , who had the chip developed to control robot spiders for secret execution missions . The trail finally leads to Dr. Charles Luther. He was involved in the project and sold the weapon to criminals. However, Luther evades arrest and is able to flee. It turns out that the secretary Jackie Rogers is also involved in the case, she has the chip prototype and can be arrested. To get to the prototype, Luther kidnaps Ramsay's son Bobby. criticism

  • Cinema : "Simple figures, but made exciting"
  • Outnow.ch: “The story just doesn't carry you along enough, the arc of suspense remains rather flat and simply doesn't get beyond good entertainment value. (...) So definitely an amusing science fiction fairy tale, definitely not anymore. "
  • TV feature film : "Michael Crichton, bestselling author (" Jurassic Park ") and occasional director (" Westworld "), is also focusing on his favorite subject in his fifth film: criticism of the dangers of modern technologies, embedded in fast-paced action scenes."
  • Rotten Tomatoes evaluated 18 reviews in the United States, 8 of which were more positive and 10 more negative. In total, the film has a tomatometer score of 44 percent with an average rating of 4.8 out of 10 points.
