Allen Hall

Allen Hall (born May 4, 1946 in Salt Lake City , Utah) is an American special effects artist , who was awarded an Oscar for his work on the films Forrest Gump and Pirates of the Caribbean . Hall was also honored with two BAFTA Awards and nominated for 10 other film awards.

biography

Allen Hall was born in Utah , but his family moved to Burbank, California in the 1960s . There he came into contact with the film industry while still a student at Burbank High School . His family then moved to Thousand Oaks , where he graduated from high school in 1964. Hall then studied at Brigham Young University in Utha and earned a bachelor's degree in zoology . In 1973, Hall met Glen Robinson , whom he asked for a chance for six months until he was granted an assistant role for the 1975 film Die Hindenburg . Hall later met special effects artist Joe Lombardi , who got him a job on the production of Apocalypse Now . For this film, Hall developed and produced the burned and disfigured bodies of the dead soldiers. From 1979 onwards, major engagements followed, through which he was also nominated for film awards from 1990 onwards.

Allen Hall has appeared in a number of documentaries , including "Creating the Kraken" from 2006 and "The Making of 'Road to Perdition'".

Allen Hall is the uncle of the actor Matt Lutz .
