Kirstie Alley
Kirsten Louise Alley (born January 12, 1951 in Wichita , Kansas ) is an American actress .
Life
Alley's mother, Mickie, died in a car accident in 1981. Her father Robert, owner of a timber factory, was seriously injured in the accident. Alley said on Twitter that she was beaten by her mother until she was 17.
Kirsten Alley's first film role was that of Vulcan Lieutenant Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan . In order not to remain committed to this role and allegedly also because her fee demands were not met, she refused to play the Vulcan again in Star Trek III: In Search of Mr. Spock .
After a role in the television series Operation Masquerade ( Masquerade ), she was seen in 1985/86 in the first two seasons of the television miniseries Torches in the Storm in the role of the abolitionist Virgilia Hazard; her then-husband Parker Stevenson played her younger brother Billy Hazard in the second season of the series. She then played Rebecca Howe in the sitcom Cheers and Mollie alongside John Travolta in Look Who's Talking! - the movie had two sequels with the same cast.
In 1992, Alley worked with Prince and is a reporter named "Vanessa Bartholomew" on his album Love Symbol . In the 1990s, Alley was mostly seen in movie comedies and on US television. In 2005 she starred in the sitcom Fat Actress ; from lovesickness she had put on a lot of weight.
Between 1983 and 1997, Alley was married to actor Parker Stevenson and they adopted two children during that time.
Alley has been a Scientology member since a young age . She has reached the second highest step in the Scientology hierarchy and has spent millions of dollars on Scientology.
