Veronica (Original Title: Veronica's Closet ) is a sitcom produced by Warner Bros. Television , which was first broadcast between 1997 and 2000 by the US television network NBC . Veronica's Closet is a parodic allusion to the classy underwear company Victoria's Secret . In Germany, the series was first seen on September 24, 2001 on RTL . She was also represented at NICK Comedy for a longer period of time until the program line within the television station Nick was discontinued. She also appeared on Comedy Central .

Characters

Veronica "Ronnie" Chase ( Kirstie Alley ) is rejected by her husband after 14 years of marriage and divorces him. Out of frustration, she starts writing relationship guides and also opens a mail order business for lingerie. She is affectionately called “The Mother” in the group and basically holds the whole company together. Despite everything, she is a very difficult woman, which explains her many attempts to have a serious relationship again.

Perry Rollins ( Dan Cortese ) used to be an underwear model. After giving up this job, he took over public relations at Veronica's company. In addition, it protects Ronnie from intrusive reporters who want to find out everything about her private life. At the end of the series, he and Veronica are a couple. When asked if he was serious about her (Veronica), he replied that he doesn't want to have a serious relationship with anyone but her.

Josh Blair ( Wallace Langham ) has a problem having relationships with women. That's because he's gay, which he doesn't admit until the end of the series. He is Veronica's personal assistant, who always draws attention to himself with his sarcastic remarks and provides her with pizza when she is sick.

Olive Massery ( Kathy Najimy ) is Veronica's closest confidante and best friend. She is responsible for marketing at the company and has a passion for younger men. At the end of the series, she becomes Veronica's business partner.

Leo Michaels ( Daryl Mitchell ) is the company's product manager. Thanks to his naive nature, he always manages to emerge from difficult situations unscathed.

Pat Chase ( Robert Prosky ) is Veronica's father and her chauffeur. Although they both still live under the same roof, they get along well, apart from the occasional space problem caused by Pat's affair with the cleaning lady.

Alec Bilson ( Ron Silver ) becomes a co-owner of Ronnie's company in the second season of the series. In addition to constant quarrels with Veronica about running a company, he is also interested in her privately. However, he is not particularly successful in conquering Veronica's heart. When he tries to push her into a relationship, she refuses. Thereupon he takes refuge on vacation on a South Sea island and marries a young woman named June out of frustration. However, marital happiness does not last long, as he falls into a volcano while walking and dies.

June Bilson ( Lorri Bagley ) is Alec's widow. Although she was only briefly married to him, she inherits his shares in Ronnie's company. June is not of much help in the company, however, as she is very dense and never gets the point. At the end of the series it turns out that June isn't stupid at all and pushed Alec into the volcano. Whether she meant it as a joke or serious remains unclear. It can be guessed, however, that June is serious because she has not made a similar “joke” until the end of the series.

Chloe ( Mary Lynn Rajskub ) is Josh's fiancée until he admits he's gay.
