Cyphanthera miersiana is a plant type from the genus cyphanthera in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Cyphanthera miersiana is an upright shrub that grows up to 70 cm high . Its branches are moderately hairy with simple, glandular and non-glandular trichomes . The leaves are triangular-heart-shaped, sessile, hairy and 3 to 4 mm long and 2 to 2.5 mm long.
The flowers are solitary or in zyme- shaped inflorescences from only a few flowers. The flower stalks are 4.5 to 7.5 mm long. The calyx reaches a length of 4 to 5 mm and is hairy with dense glands. The crown is 6 to 10 mm long, almost hairless on the outside. It is colored white and has purple stripes. The corolla lobes are broadly ovate to circular and 2 to 4 mm long. The stamens are 4 to 5 mm long.
The fruit is an ovoid-elliptical, pointed capsule and is 4 mm long.
Distribution and locations
The species is a rare endemic species and can only be found in the Wiluna area in Western Australia . It grows there on sand dunes.
