Cyprian Monis

Cyprian Monis (born April 11, 1945 in Dorna Halli ) is an Indian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Asansol .

Life

Cyprian Monis received on 21 December 1975, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 26, 1994, Pope John Paul II named him titular bishop of Molicunza and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Calcutta . The Archbishop of Calcutta, Henry Sebastian D'Souza , donated him episcopal ordination on August 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Delhi , Alan Basil de Lastic , and the Bishop of Silchar , Denzil Reginald D'Souza . On October 24, 1997, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Asansol.

On May 4, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Cyprian Monis' resignation due to reasons of age.
