Cyril Miranda (born March 25, 1985 in Le Chenit ) is a French cross-country skier . He mainly competes in the sprint discipline.

Career

Miranda ran his first World Cup race in December 2006 in La Clusaz , which he did not finish. He got his first World Cup points in January 2007 in Otepää with 17th place in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in 2008 in Mals, he won silver in the sprint. In the 2007/08 season he achieved two top ten placings in world cup races, including fifth place in the sprint in Stockholm and finished the season in 62nd place in the overall World Cup and 26th place in the sprint ranking. These are his best overall World Cup results to date. He finished the Tour de Ski 2008/09 in 45th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he reached tenth place in the sprint and fifth place in the team sprint. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he finished 16th in the sprint and seventh in the team sprint. He achieved 42nd place in the sprint and eighth place in the team sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he reached 18th place in the sprint. His best placings at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 16th in the sprint and tenth in the team sprint.
