The Czerteż is a mountain in the Polish Pieninki , a mountain range of the Pieninen , with a height of 774 meters. It is the highest peak of the Pieninki. Its top is forested and it is located on the Sokola Perć high trail .
Location and surroundings
The Czerteż lies in the main ridge of the Pienines . To the southeast of the summit is the Dunajec Gorge , to the north is the Krośnica Valley .
etymology
The name can be translated as clearing and is of Lemk origin. It stems from the fact that in the past the forest on its slopes was cleared to create alpine pastures.
tourism
The summit is in the Pieninen National Park . Several marked hiking trails lead to the summit.
