history

Church in Rothflössel

Rothflössel was mentioned in 1631 as Rotenflues . It was built on the river of the same name and belonged to the Mittelwalde lordship , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation. After the Silesian Wars it fell to Prussia together with the County of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . After the reorganization of Prussia, it belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was initially incorporated into the district of Glatz. In 1818 it was reorganized into the newly formed Habelschwerdt district , with which it remained connected until 1945. In 1939 there were 69 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War , Rothflössel fell to Poland in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, and was renamed Czerwony Strumień . The German population was expelled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . Since 1945 it has belonged to the powiat Bystrzycki. Because of the remote border location, the residents left the place in the following decades, whereby the houses and farms were left to decay. Czerwony Strumień has been considered non-existent for several decades. The area still belongs to the urban and rural municipality of Międzylesie.
