Dörfles bei Scheuerfeld (officially: Dörfles b.Scheuerfeld ) is a western part of the Upper Franconian town of Coburg , which was united with the neighboring town of Scheuerfeld in 1869 .

geography

The place is about 2.5 kilometers west of Coburg on a ridge. Scheuerfeld is to the south.

history

The first documentary mention was in 1303 as "Dorfleyn". The place name denotes a small village. In 1527 the place was mentioned in the directory of the Redwitz seniors. Missing entries in the Scheuerfeld church book from 1601 to 1719 indicate a settlement that was temporarily uninhabited. An inn was built in 1707 by the Scheuerfeld village master, Captain Georg Christoph von Merklin, on the road to Ummerstadt . The place consisted of an estate that served as an inn and two drip houses . In 1715 von Merklin sold the settlement to the Würzburg bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau . In 1719 the inn was sold on. The lower jurisdiction and lienability passed to Georg Paul von Hendrich in 1721, who was the owner of the Ahorner manor.

In 1837 the village had 44 inhabitants, in 1871 there were 140 and 19 residential buildings. The whole parish corridor had an area of 1.4 hectares. The new district road from Coburg to Ummerstadt, which led through Dörfles, was completed in 1853. In 1869 Dörfles was united with the community of Scheuerfeld as part of the first regional reform in the Coburg region. Since Dörfles had no municipal property, Scheuerfeld resisted. A fire destroyed several properties on November 14, 1881.

In 1925 Dörfles counted 234 people and 35 residential buildings. The Protestant church and school were in Scheuerfeld, 0.5 kilometers away. In 1950 the village had 374 inhabitants and 57 residential buildings and in 1961 324 inhabitants and 63 residential buildings.

In the course of the regional reform , Scheuerfeld and its part of the municipality Dörfles were incorporated into the city of Coburg on July 1, 1972. The two places had grown together in the meantime.
