Dörte Techel (born February 14, 1964 in Güstrow , formerly Dörte Stüdemann) is a former German volleyball player .

Dörte Techel, who was 1.70 meters tall at the time, was the smallest Bundesliga player at Schweriner SC in the early 1990s , and played in the position of a player . With the second division club 1. VC Vechta , she was promoted to the first division in 1995.

As Dörte Stüdemann she was a member of the GDR national team and became European champion with them at the 1987 European women's volleyball championship. A year earlier, she had already taken part in the World Cup in Czechoslovakia as the best player and finished fourth with the GDR. In 1988 she took part in the Olympic Games in Seoul , where she finished fifth. Techel completed a total of 229 international matches for the GDR .

Today she is head of department at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Olympic base in Schwerin and coordinator for boxing, cycling and volleyball.
