The Düring AG is a Swiss detergent manufacturer . The company was founded in 1951 by Maria Düring and is still run as a family company today . The products are still produced in Switzerland.

history

Maria Düring laid the cornerstone of the company with the development of a new hydrochloric acid- based agent for decalcifying toilets. At the beginning she sold her decalcifier directly to school attendants, a short time later she brought the agent to retail outlets under the trade name Durgol . In 1963 her son, the druggist Walter Düring , got into the business. He developed the product Durgol WC . Two years later, the universal descaler Durgol ME was created , which is now sold under the name Durgol Express .

In 1980 Walter Düring developed the toilet duck , a cleaning bottle with a specially curved neck, which should make it easier to clean the toilet under the rim. The toilet duck trademark rights were sold to SC Johnson in 2008 . Since then, Düring AG has concentrated on the Durgol brand again. In cooperation with Tchibo , the company brought a descaler for coffee machines onto the market.

Today Durgol has a market share of 30% in Switzerland.

The company Düring AG is managed by the third generation of three siblings.
