DB Cargo Polska SA (formerly PCC Rail SA , then until April 2016 DB Schenker Rail Polska SA ) is a subsidiary of DB Cargo in Poland .
history
PCC Rail was founded as a subsidiary of Duisburg PCC on the basis of the sand railway company Przedsiębiorstwo Materiałów Podsadzkowych Przemysłu Węglowego . In 2008, the subsidiaries managed by PCC Rail had around 5,800 employees, operated 400 locomotives and 7700 wagons, and achieved sales of around 350 million euros (of which PCC Rail around 100 million). In 2013, 4,400 people were employed, the fleet comprised 400 locomotives and 6,000 wagons.
In January 2009 the PCC logistics division (with the exception of PCC Intermodal , which is active in container traffic ) was sold to Deutsche Bahn . PCC Logistics was integrated into the DB logistics group DB Schenker Rail as the Eastern Europe division. In November 2009 the railway company was renamed DB Schenker Rail Polska . The takeover was accompanied by a realignment of the company. Up until now it was geared towards local traffic and the operation of sidings. Now national and international transports have also been taken over, such as a container train connection from Wroclaw to London. At the end of May 2015, DB Schenker Rail Polska SA sold its 13.94 percent stake in PCC Intermodal's share capital over the counter to the Swiss operator Hupac SA .
On April 29, 2016, DB Schenker Rail Polska was renamed DB Cargo Polska .
vehicles
Class 66 locomotives have been in service since 2011 . In December 2012, DB Schenker Rail Polska ordered 23 Vectron locomotives from Siemens Rail Systems . In addition, an option for 13 pieces was granted. The locomotives will be built in the Siemens plant on Krauss-Maffei-Strasse in Munich. Furthermore, various older locomotives were or are in use for DB Cargo Polska such as B. 3E , Series 182 , TEM2 , and T448p . All of them wear the distinctive traffic red color scheme of Deutsche Bahn.
