The DHL Home Delivery GmbH (DHL HD) is a German company for B2C - contract logistics . There is a control and profit and loss transfer agreement with Deutsche Post AG . As a subsidiary it takes largely the responsibilities of DHL in the area Fulfillment in Germany and Europe, and by the end of 2019, the tasks in the two-man handling in Germany. In Germany, it operates its own logistics centers in Staufenberg (Lower Saxony) , Kirchheim , Langenfeld (Rhineland) , Braunschweig and Greven . By DHL HD has DHL Supply Chain its predominant B2B - warehouse logistics around the area B2C and e-commerce expands.
history
The subsidiary of the Deutsche Post DHL Group , founded in 1997 as Deutsche Post Kontraktlogistik GmbH (DPK), was intended to serve the contract logistics market in Germany. In 2000, the group decided to merge the two companies Deutsche Post Kontraktlogistik GmbH and International Post Services (IPS). This resulted in the new Deutsche Post Fulfillment GmbH (DPF) with the focus on the national and international B2C business of both former companies. The B2B Tasks were in the same part of the former Post subsidiary Danzas passed.
After organizationally contract logistics in 2006 by the letter range of the company in the supply chain zuordnete sub-class, it first operated under the name DHL Fulfillment GmbH (DHLf). For this purpose, the former DHL Solutions Großgut GmbH merged into DHL HD in 2016 in order to bundle the resources in one company. Since then, DHL HD has been responsible for the delivery of freight forwarding goods. Today it belongs to an organizational division Parcel Germany . However, it does not perform pure parcel deliveries. In December 2019, the decision was made to reorganize the fulfillment area into the supply chain division. The 2-man handling that DHL HD took over until the end of 2019, however, remains in the DHL Paket segment . To make this possible, DHL 2-Mann-Handling GmbH was founded and the branches and employees of DHL HD in the 2MH area were transferred to the new company.
tasks
The DHL Home Delivery GmbH offers among the division DHL Fulfillment services for business customers on. It acts as a full-service provider in the B2C segment and takes care of storage, shipping and returns management on behalf of the respective major customer. The immediate proximity to the DHL network, such as the neighboring parcel center of DHL Paket, the express center of DHL Express or the letter center in Kassel, predominates at the Staufenberg location . This enables a late cut-off time - ordered today, delivered tomorrow, nationwide (if the order is submitted by 6 p.m.). At the Langenfeld location , same-day delivery is also offered in the Rhine-Ruhr area .
In the DHL 2-man handling division , she offered furniture dealers reliable logistics solutions for large and bulky goods. The storage of furniture, white goods, consumer electronics or leisure and garden items was just as much a part of the product portfolio as the shipping of large appliances to customers in Germany , Austria , Luxembourg and Switzerland . As an option, assembly can also be ordered directly by DHL employees. It thus acted as a special delivery agent in the DHL network and stands out through classic parcel delivery. DHL 2-Mann-Handling GmbH will now take over these tasks in full .
criticism
In January 2015, a total of 49 DHL Delivery regional companies were founded under the umbrella of Delivery Home GmbH . The delivery takes on the same tasks as DHL, in essence, their employees are not bound by the collective agreement of Deutsche Post AG and DHL. Payment is based on the poorer regional tariffs of the forwarding and logistics industry. The unions suspect that the post management wants to lower wages and worsen working conditions in the long run. This is a further erosion of the collective agreements of Deutsche Post AG. Colleagues with different hourly wages, weekly working hours and break times then work together under the umbrella of a postal branch.
