title | Classification and identification of documents for plants, systems and equipment - Part 1: Rules and tables for classification |
Brief description: | Identification of documents |
Latest edition | 3.2009 |
ISO | IEC 61355-1 |
The standard EN 61355-1 Classification and identification of documents for plants, systems and facilities regulates the uniform and manufacturer-independent classification and identification of documents ( document class ). It is managed internationally with the same content under the designation IEC 61355 Classification and designation of documents for plants, systems and equipment . It is also published as a DIN standard and as the VDE guideline VDE 0040-3 .
With the March 2009 edition, the standard was broken down into several parts to include additional parts with branch-related specifications. EN 61355: 1997 has been replaced by EN 61355-1: 2009.
The entire technical documentation in the life cycle of technical products, including the non-technical documents from the engineering process, is intended as the scope of the standard. The main areas of application include the construction and operation of chemical and power plants with a documentation volume of up to several 100,000 documents.
The standard regulates the allocation of document type identifiers (DCC = document kind classification code) for every type of document.
A document type identifier consists of the three letters A1, A2, A3, which are preceded by an " & ".
- A1 Code letter for technical area
- A2 Code letter for main classes
- A3 code letter for subclasses
The letter A1 does not need to be specified if all documents come from the same area. The code letters A2 and A3 are identical for all technical areas.
The technical areas are:
A1 | technical part |
---|---|
A. | Superordinate management |
B. | Superordinate technology |
C. | Construction (civil engineering) |
E. | Electrical engineering, instrumentation and control technology (including information and communication technology) |
M. | Mechanical engineering (usually including process technology) |
P | Process technology (only if separation of M is required) |
The main classes are:
A2 | Document type class, main classes |
---|---|
A. | Documentation descriptive documents |
B. | Management documents |
C. | Contractual and non-technical documents |
D. | Documents with general technical information |
E. | Documents for technical requirements and design |
F. | Functional documents |
L. | Location-describing documents |
M. | Connection describing documents |
P | Object lists |
Q | Quality management documents and documents describing safety |
T | Documents describing geometric shapes |
