Johannes Evangelist Dachsberger (born September 23, 1898 in Aigen am Inn , † April 29, 1981 in Passau ) was a German Catholic clergyman and vicar general in the diocese of Passau and provost .

Life

Dachsberger studied at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and Innsbruck . On October 28, 1923, Dachsberger was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Passau and was a cooperator in Ruhstorf from August 1, 1925 and sub- rain of the seminary in Passau from March 1, 1926 and Regens from September 1, 1937 to December 31, 1954 of the seminary. The fact that the seminary was not dissolved during the war years was largely due to him as Regens. On October 15, 1949, he was appointed to the cathedral chapter , after having been appointed vicar on November 16, 1932 . Dachsberger was from January 1, 1961 to October 27, 1968 as the successor to Franz Seraph Riemer Vicar General of the Diocese of Passau and then until his retirement on October 1, 1972 as the successor of Antonius Hofmann Dompropst. During this time he was also chairman of the Diocesan Charity Association and for many years also a board member of the Association for East Bavarian Local History Research, of which he had been a member since 1936.

Dachsberger spent the last years of his life in the Waldesruh nursing home and was buried in the canon crypt in 1981.
