Dagrun Hintze (* 1971 in Lübeck ) is a German author. She writes plays, poetry, prose and essays and also publishes on contemporary art and documentary theater.

Career

After graduating from high school in Pasco , Washington , and graduating from the Johanneum zu Lübeck , Hintze studied German, art history and theater studies in Würzburg and Antwerp. She then worked as an assistant director and director at the Lübeck Theater and the Kassel State Theater .

Since 2000 she has published poetry and prose in magazines and anthologies (including Federwelt , Edit , Volltext , EXOT , Lyrikjahrbuch der Deutschen Verlagsanstalt, Hamburger ZIEGEL), and since 2005 regular publications on contemporary art (including Revolver , Hatje Cantz , Passagen und Textem ), since 2009 premieres of her plays at various German-speaking theaters.

In 2017 her volume of essays Ball possession - women, men and football was published by mairisch Verlag . In 2017/18 Dagrun Hintze initiated and implemented the multi-season project Staging Democracy - The revival of an ancient idea with Hamburg citizens at the Hamburger Lichthof Theater. It consisted of five public assemblies drawn by lots on various urban political issues, a panel of experts with Hamburg parliamentarians and a play that premiered in June 2018. The Lichthof Theater was awarded the Barbara Kisseler Theater Prize 2018 for this. Her collection of poetry was also published by Minimal Trash Art in 2018, followed in 2019 by Wer what in which Nacht dreamed - stories about art, design and architecture by Textem Verlag.

Dagrun Hintze is married to the Hamburg gallery owner Mathias Güntner. Since 1999 she has lived as a freelance writer in Hamburg .
