Daimler-Renault-Nissan Alliance
The alliance between Daimler , Renault and Nissan , which began in April 2010, is a strategic cooperation in the automotive sector. This alliance exists between the partners Daimler with CEO Ola Källenius and Renault-Nissan with CEO Jean-Dominique Senard . The plant of the 50:50 joint venture COMPAS (Cooperation Manufacturing Plant Aguascalientes) in Aguascalientes ( Mexico ), which was built in 2015, has been producing Infiniti models since 2017 and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan (V 177) from 2018 .
Common models
As a result of the alliance, a large number of joint models were brought onto the market. The current core market of Allianz is the European car market.
- Renault builds the Renault Kangoo as a Mercedes Citan for Daimler.
- Renault and Daimler jointly developed the Renault Twingo and the Smart Forfour on the Twingo platform.
- Daimler supplies the A-Class platform for the construction of the Infiniti Q30 .
- Infiniti also builds the QX30 on the Mercedes-Benz GLA platform .
- 4-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines with 1.33 to 1.6 liters displacement developed by Renault and Daimler as smaller engines for various Mercedes-Benz models.
- Mercedes X-Class pickup on a joint basis with Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan .
Future planning
At the 2015 International Motor Show , the two CEOs of Daimler and Renault-Nissan agreed that in future the electric motors of the Renault Zoe would also be installed in the two and four-door electric Smart.
