The Mercedes-Benz 470 series ( X-Class ) is a pick-up from Mercedes-Benz . The vehicle shares the technology with the Nissan Navara and the Renault Alaskan .

history

The first concept vehicle was presented in Stockholm in October 2016 , the production version was presented in Cape Town on July 18, 2017 . The X-Class came onto the German market on November 4, 2017 at prices starting at 37,294 euros. The market launch in South Africa will follow in early 2018. Australia, Argentina and Brazil will follow in early 2019. The X-Class is not offered in the USA.

At the CMT in January 2018 in Stuttgart , Mercedes-Benz presented the vehicle with a living room from Tischer.

production

The new series is produced in a production joint venture with the Renault-Nissan alliance. Production takes place at the Nissan plant in Barcelona . An initially planned production of the X-Class for the Latin American market at the Renault plant in Córdoba , Argentina , was not implemented.

In 2018 Mercedes-Benz sold around 16,700 units of the X-Class, which did not meet the manufacturer's expectations. In the following year, only 15,300 units were sold. Therefore, it was announced in January 2020 that production of the X-Class should be ended as early as May 2020.
