Mercedes-Benz-Transporter describes commercial vehicles from Mercedes-Benz with a gross vehicle weight of up to 7.5 tons, which are mainly built as panel vans or flatbed trucks . Mercedes-Benz is one of the largest manufacturers of vans in Europe and produces them in Düsseldorf ( Sprinter ), Ludwigsfelde (Sprinter) and in Vitoria, Spain ( Vito / V-Class ).

The smallest version of the Atego with 6.5 tonnes is not a van, but a Mercedes-Benz truck .

Competitors in the field of vans include Volkswagen LT , Ford Transit and Iveco Daily .

Designations

In addition to the name, the vans are identified by a three-digit number. The first digit denotes the weight class in tons and is

  • 1 for the Vito
  • 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 for sprinters
  • 5, 6, 7, 8 for Vario

As is usual with Mercedes-Benz trucks , the last two digits indicate the rounded output in hp.

Body shapes offered

Mercedes-Benz vans are offered in many different body styles. These include, depending on the model:

Timeline
