The Mercedes-Benz C 257 is a luxury-class vehicle from Mercedes-Benz , the sales name of which is CLS . The vehicle was presented on November 29, 2017 at the LA Auto Show as the successor to the 218 series. It is produced in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen . Sales began with three engines in March 2018.
design
The exterior of the C 257 takes up the familiar design of the Mercedes-Benz coupés. Like the previous versions, it is being marketed as a “four-door coupé ”, but the Shooting Brake has been omitted with the model change. By reducing the number of beads and lines in contrast to its predecessor, the C 257 has a c w value of 0.26. The front grille opening to the front with a cross strut is strongly reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG GT . The new MULTIBEAM LED headlights should provide a view of up to 650 meters in the dark.
The interior of the CLS combines aspects of the E- and S-Class: the dashboard including the glove compartment was taken from the 238 series (E-Class Coupé / Cabriolet) launched in 2016 , while the steering wheel is a slightly modified version of the 222 series steering wheel (S-Class) is.
In the second year after the official market launch, the first optical model maintenance measures were carried out in 2019. The changes included a modified bonnet with two so-called power domes and a new spoiler lip in connection with the AMG Line Exterior equipment line.
