history

The Mercedes-Benz Atron truck series was produced for the Brazilian market from 2012 . The series is known locally as "Bicudo-do-algodoeiro" ( cotton boll beetle ).

Around 33,000 units of the Atron series have been produced in Brazil since the market launch in 2012. At the final end of production, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil launched a special edition with 60 pieces in September 2016 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary, 59 of which were reserved within two days. The 60th and last Mercedes-Benz Atron Special Edition was auctioned on September 28, 2016 on the occasion of the company's anniversary.
