Mercedes-Benz Vision R is a concept vehicle from Mercedes-Benz that was presented in September 2004 and later went into series production as the Mercedes-Benz 251 series.

Mercedes-Benz Vision R - a further development of Mercedes-Benz Vision GST and Mercedes-Benz Vision GST 2 - was presented at the Paris Motor Show in Paris from September 25 to October 10, 2004. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz Vision B was presented. The vehicle is supposed to "combine different vehicle concepts" - such as sporty sedans, station wagons, vans and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). According to Mercedes, "the vehicle is characterized by size, space comfort and functionality and should meet high expectations in terms of performance and driving dynamics".

Mercedes-Benz Vision R had a diesel engine with six cylinders , a displacement of 3000 cubic centimeters, four-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission . The engine was noisy Mercedes-Benz, a "prototype of a new V6 -Dieselmotors with common rail - direct injection and variable turbocharger ".
Mercedes-Benz Vision R is a variant of Vision GST 2 for the European market and differs from Vision GST 2 in that its wheelbase is 23.5 centimeters shorter (a total of 2.98 meters). The maximum torque is 510 Newton meters and the fuel consumption is less than nine liters per 100 kilometers.
Mercedes-Benz Vision R is a 4 + 2-seater, the space available "should exceed that of a luxury sedan". The interior consists largely of leather , decorative elements are made of ash wood and aluminum .
