Internally, the second generation of the CLA from the automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is referred to as Mercedes-Benz 118 . It is the successor to the 117 series . The 177 series presented in February 2018 provided the technical basis for the 118 series .

history

The four-door coupé (C 118) was presented at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2019 and has been produced in Kecskemét , Hungary , since February 2019 . The first vehicles came onto the market in May 2019. In March 2019, the Shooting Brake (X 118) was presented at the Geneva Motor Show , which is also produced at the Kecskemét plant and came onto the market in September 2019.

AMG models

At the New York International Auto Show in April 2019, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35, the top model in the series, was presented. It has been delivered since August 2019. At the beginning of June 2019, the Shooting Brake was also presented as the AMG 35.

In July 2019, the CLA 45 and the CLA 45 S were presented by AMG. The S model is the strongest model in the series and the strongest series-produced four-cylinder model worldwide.

Technical specifications

For the launch in March 2019 new CLA was associated with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine of the type M 282 EN 14 100 kW (136 hp) or 120 kW (163 hp), a two-liter gasoline engine of the type M 260 DE 20 AL Available with 140 kW (190 PS) or 165 kW (224 PS) or a 1.5-liter diesel engine of type OM 608 DE 15 with 85 kW (116 PS). The two more powerful petrol engines are available with all-wheel drive at an additional cost . The 225 kW (306 hp) AMG variant and a diesel engine with 110 kW (150 hp) or 140 kW (190 hp) followed in April. The 285 kW (387 PS) CLA 45 and the 310 kW (421 PS) CLA 45 S were presented in July 2019.

A variant with a plug-in hybrid drive was presented in March 2020. The CLA 250 e is produced in two versions body and is supported by 1.3-liter gasoline engine of the type M 282 to 118 kW (160 HP) in combination with a 75 kW (102 hp) electric motor driven. Together, this results in a system output of 160 kW (218 PS) and a system torque of 450 Nm. The combustion engine is started up by the electric machine. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 15.6 kWh and enables an electric range of up to 79 kilometers.
