The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is a vehicle from Mercedes-AMG . Internally, the vehicle is carried under the designation X 290 .
Model history
After the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG GT presented Daimler at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 a four-door version was provided to the mass production in view.
Exactly one year later, the X 290 was presented in two engine variants in the same place: as the hybrid model GT 53 with in-line six -cylinder engine and as GT 63 and GT 63 S with V8 turbo engine.
technology
The X 290 shares the basis with the 213 and 257 series . In the two V8 engines, the vehicle has cylinder deactivation . If the driver has selected the Comfort drive program, cylinders two, three, five and eight are deactivated in the partial load range. This makes for significant fuel savings. With 470 kW (639 hp), the GT 63 S is the most powerful vehicle offered by Mercedes-AMG. In addition, the GT 63 S is the only variant of the series that was sold as an Edition 1 special model for one year from September 2018.
