Mercedes-Benz Altra is a concept vehicle from Mercedes-Benz that was presented in 1998.

The Mercedes-Benz Altra was presented at the International Motor Show for Commercial Vehicles in Hanover from September 3 to 10, 1998. One feature was the self-supporting body made of aluminum , which should enable a 500 kilogram higher payload. Daimler-Benz wanted to make it possible to reduce fuel consumption by introducing further innovations for existing model series in the same year .
