The Mercedes-Benz 238 series (sales name: E-Class Coupé or E-Class Cabriolet ) is an upper middle -class passenger car from Mercedes-Benz . It replaced the 207 series and has been built since the end of 2016.

Model history

The E-Class Coupé ( C 238 ) was presented on December 14, 2016 and has been at dealerships since April 8, 2017. It had its trade fair premiere at the NAIAS in January 2017 in Detroit . The E-Class Cabriolet ( A 238 ) was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 and went on sale in September 2017. The sedan and station wagon versions form the independent W 213 and S 213 series . In contrast to the previous model, which was based on the floor pan of the C-Class , the new series is based on the E-Class.

At the market launch, the coupé was available as a special Edition 1 model limited to 555 units . The Cabriolet was available as a 25th Anniversary Edition as a reminder of the first open E-Class of the 124 series .

On May 27, 2020, the manufacturer presented a revised version of the series.
