Mercedes-Benz Maybach Study is a concept vehicle from Mercedes-Benz that was presented in 1997 and later went into series production as the Maybach 57 and 62 .

Mercedes-Benz Maybach study was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in Tokyo in 1997 as a luxury car concept . The plan was a chauffeur sedan the upper class .
features
The vehicle of a powered four-stroke - gasoline engine with twelve cylinders , a displacement of 6000 cubic centimeters, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission .
Special features were the reclining seat with lower leg support and swiveling footrest as well as an entertainment system for the passengers in the passenger compartment : 20-inch flat screens for video and television programs, a sound system with radio, CD changer and mini-disc player and two small six-inch screens for controlling the Investment. The communication system can be operated with three cell phones .
The vehicle is 5.77 meters long and thus 0.56 meters longer than the Mercedes-Benz S 600 . The wheelbase is 40 cm longer, while the width and height are each 6 cm larger. This results in a wheelbase of 3565 mm, a width of 1946 mm and a height of 1546 mm.
Serial production
If the Maybach study concept vehicle was still presented under the name Mercedes-Benz, customer surveys (including in Tokyo, Hong Kong , London or New York ) would have shown that the targeted customers would prefer a “more exclusive name” for such a luxury car. Therefore it was decided to sell the vehicle under the name Maybach ; However, Maybach receives complete technological support from Mercedes-Benz. Maybach centers have been set up worldwide for sales, in Germany in addition to Sindelfingen in Berlin and Hamburg .
