history
The Mercedes-Benz Concept GLC Coupé design study presented at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show , which is powered by a three-liter V6 petrol engine with 270 kW (367 hp) , provided a first glimpse of the vehicle .
The production version of the vehicle was presented on March 23, 2016 at the New York International Auto Show . Production started at the end of June 2016 and takes place together with the sedan and the T-model of the C-Class as well as the GLC on an assembly line at the Bremen plant.

Technical specifications
When it was launched in September 2016, the GLC Coupé was only available in three engine variants ( 250 4MATIC , 220 d 4MATIC and 250 d 4MATIC ). In addition to a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 155 kW (211 hp), a 2.1-liter diesel engine with an output of 125 kW (170 hp) and 150 kW (204 hp) is available. These variants are supplied as standard with all-wheel drive , a 9-speed automatic transmission and 18-inch wheels. With the 2016/2 change year, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC with 270 kW (367 hp), the plug-in hybrid GLC 350 e 4MATIC with 235 kW (320 hp), the GLC 300 4MATIC and the GLC 350 d have been available since October 4MATIC can be ordered, delivery will start in December 2016. At the New York International Auto Show in April 2017, Mercedes-AMG presented the GLC and GLC Coupé as the 63 4MATIC + with 350 kW (476 hp) and the 63 4MATIC + S with 375 kW (510 PS). These can be ordered since June 16, 2017 and came onto the market in September 2017.
Plug-in hybrid
The plug-in hybrid GLC 350 e 4MATIC Coupé has an electric motor integrated in the transmission housing with a maximum output of 85 kW and a torque of 340 Nm. In conjunction with the four-cylinder M274DEH20LA gasoline engine, this results in a system output of 235 kW (320 PS) and a system torque of 560 Nm. According to the NEDC, a purely electric range of 34 km can be achieved. Since auxiliary units such as the water pump , vacuum pump , power steering pump and air conditioning compressor have been electrified, the conventional belt drive is no longer required. The generator is also eliminated, the 12-V power supply is a DC / DC converter fed from the high-voltage onboard network. The approx. 120 kg lithium-ion battery with an energy content of 8.7 kWh is located behind the rear axle . It is a lithium iron phosphate battery consisting of 120 cells (22 Ah, 3.3 V) connected in series with a nominal voltage of 396 V.
