Dallas City is a town in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . Dallas City is mostly in Hancock County and a smaller part in Henderson County . The city is named after Vice President George M. Dallas .
On the afternoon of October 23, 1858, Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech in Dallas City, on the banks of the Mississippi.

The city lies on the east bank of the upper Mississippi River , which forms the border with Iowa . The Illinois State Route 96 leads through the village , into which the Illinois State Route 9 joins in the city center .
A BNSF Railway also runs through Dallas City .
The intersection of the three states of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri is 46 km southeast of Dallas City. The nearest major cities are Burlington, 19 miles upstream, and Fort Madison , Iowa, 17 km downstream, and Macomb , Illinois, 35 miles east .
